Workplace Wellbeing

Larger companies and organisations can offer their employees an Employee Assistance package that includes occupational health advice, assessment and referrals to professionals like myself. Through these schemes I have provided support for employees from DWP, Royal Mail Group, Environment Agency, RPA, Highways Agency and NHS to name a few.

In addition to receiving EAP referrals I offer my own business support to local firms where they can offer support to their employees by referring to me for assessment and agree to offer a number of sessions. With the clients' agreement, I will advise of any work-related issues that could be put in place to help the employee at work or to return to work but the content of the session remains confidential. With appointments available inside and outside working hours I can accommodate most requirements. In addition to this, I can offer telephone support to managers and offer supervision to those professionals working in social care, support agencies as well as other therapists. I can attend a business after a critical incident or traumatic event to offer support to colleagues individually or in a group.

One of the businesses I work with is Cartmell Shepherd solicitors who have 5 offices in Cumbria and Northumberland, Scott Garson, Practice Manager says "Workplace wellbeing and mental health is an area that all businesses should not ignore. As someone who works with and manages people on a daily basis it is critical for me to ensure I have a support network there to call upon for professional advice and consultation. Soni is excellent; she provides a personal and completely confidential service and I thoroughly recommend her to any business, no matter what its size or function."

If a business would like to audit their employees wellbeing so that they can review their working environment and put measures in place to improve the workplace, I can offer to independently survey all employees and confidentially report on findings.

In my experience the sooner we can receive support the sooner we can see a way forward. If we can support people to have productive and valued work lives we can avoid chronic stress symptoms, emotional and physical, and have a happier environment to create, innovate and succeed.
